What this is, and what it is not

This places a picture of your signature onto the page. That is what the overwhelming majority of everyday paperwork actually asks for — a scanned or drawn signature on a form, a letter, a consent slip.

It is not a certificate-based digital signature. There is no cryptographic certificate, no trusted timestamp, no audit trail, and nothing a verifier could check to prove who signed or that the document is unchanged since. Anything offering those needs a certificate authority and a server, which is outside what Kagaz does. If a contract explicitly requires a qualified or digital signature, this is not it.

Why doing this locally matters more than usual

A signature is reusable. Once an image of it exists on somebody else's server, it can be pasted onto any document at all. Of everything on this site, this is the tool where "it never leaves your device" is worth the most — so it is worth checking. Open the Network tab and watch nothing happen.
